Dra. Cristina Núñez González

Chemist

Dr. Cristina Núñez González obtained her PhD in Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain. In 2010 she obtained a research contract from the Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior, and moved to Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Portugal, where she worked as a postdoctoral researcher for more than six years. In 2017, after obtaining the Miguel Servet I national research contract, funded by ISCIII and the Galician Health Service (SERGAS), she moved to the Lucus Augusti University Hospital (HULA) in Lugo. Since September
2022 she is Assistant Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). Her main research focuses on the application of Nanotechnology and Proteomics in the field of Biomedicine. The results of this research are collected in a large number of scientific articles (h-index = 23) published in high impact journals, books and book chapters. She has participated in the organizing committee of a large number of international congresses. She is a collaborator of several regional, national and international projects, being principal investigator of a total of three projects. She is currently directing the doctoral thesis of three researchers, and is the national coordinator of a clinical trial.
